FROM FRUSTRATION TO FREEDOM:

Betty’s 70-Pound Weight Loss Journey with Hypnosis

Betty Powell of Anaheim, CA was an expert on weight loss. “You name it and I’ve tried it”, she wrote. “Oh sure, I’d lose a few pounds but then those same few pounds plus more came back on. It was when I hit 180 lbs. that I knew things had to change. My friend told me about how you had helped her lose 35lbs with hypnosis. It’s been one whole year and I’m now down to my goal weight of 110 lbs. And the best thing about it is, with your help, I was able to do it without dieting, deprivation or willpower (just like you said I would). I thank you, Dr. Kaloski, from the bottom of my heart.”

If you’re like Betty (and most overweight people are) you’ve tried it all … shots … fad diets … pills … pre-packaged foods … calorie counting … hours of exhausting exercise … and more – and nothing’s worked. Oh sure, you’d lose a few pounds; but, then those same few pounds and several more for good measure soon found their way back.

Well, this program DOES work! So well, in fact, that over the past 40 + years, literally thousands of people have been helped to lose weight using the unique methods Dr. Kaloski developed back in the 1980’s and called Multiphasic Motivational Programming (or MMP for short). He’s been refining it ever since and has adapted it to today’s fast-paced lifestyle. He’s also taught more than 13,000 therapists and counselors how to utilize it successfully in their practice and to help their clients shed unwanted pounds and inches.

How Hypnosis helps

Hypnosis: A Proven Tool for Weight Loss

Over the years, hypnotherapy has come to be recognized as one of the most effective means of behavioral and habit control – particularly in the area of weight loss. While hypnosis is successfully employed in a variety of personal development and enhancement areas, more clients by far seek the services of a Professional Hypnotherapist to lose weight and take back control of their eating habits than any other issue. And there’s a reason why. It works! But don’t just take my word for it. Let’s take a look at just a smattering of the studies that have been conducted and published on its effectiveness in the field of weight loss.

What Studies Say

In a 1985 study, published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, 109 people were divided into two groups for a 9-week study. The members of the first group were treated with changes in diet and exercise habits without the addition of hypnosis. The participants in the second group were given the same diet and exercise treatments and were also provided hypnosis for reinforcement.

After 9 weeks, not surprisingly, both groups lost weight due to the changes in diet and exercise while under supervision. What happened after the 8-month and 2-year follow-ups might surprise you:

A 1986 study published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, worked with 60 women between the ages of 20-65 coming from different family, education and socioeconomic backgrounds. Once again, subjects were divided into a hypnosis group and a non-hypnosis one. After the 6-month study duration, the hypnosis group shed an average of 17 pounds while the non-hypnosis subjects’ weight loss averaged only ½ pound.

A 1996 meta-analysis (when researchers correlate the results of multiple studies and are usually considered more reliable than individual studies), published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, studied the effect of adding hypnosis for weight reduction. The study confirmed that the average weight loss in the short term for people without hypnosis was at 6 pounds and for those with hypnosis at 11.83 pounds. A whopping 100% (almost) increase in effectiveness! Even more compelling, long term results for the non-hypnosis group stayed at the same 6 pounds but changed to 14.88 pounds for those using hypnotherapy, showing that hypnosis continues to have a positive effect over time.

Another 1996 meta-analysis, also published in the Journal of Consulting Clinical Psychology, looked at 18 studies comparing a cognitive behavioral therapy, such as relaxation training, guided imagery, self-monitoring or goal setting with the same therapy supplemented by hypnosis. Those who received the hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of the non-hypnosis participants, and maintained the weight loss two years after treatment ended.

Several years ago, in a special challenge featured on NBC’s DATELINE, hypnotherapy proved to be the most effective of all major weight loss methods tested. Put up against a variety of methods and systems, including Jennie Craig, Weight Watchers and NutriSystems, hypnosis beat them all. And what’s more – the pounds not only came off … they stayed off! After three months of an on-going study, hypnosis was up to four times more successful than the other programs.

So, why does this method work when others have failed? There are a variety of reasons, but the three primary ones are these:

Every time I opened my closet it was like that old pair of jeans was taunting me. They used to be my favourite and I had all but given up hope of ever wearing them again. But I kept them, thinking that someday I would lose the extra kilos and get into them again. Well, that someday just arrived. Yesterday I tried them on and they fit perfectly. Thank you Dr. Kaloski. You made it so easy. To anyone contemplating trying your system, I would say ‘give it a go’. You have nothing to lose but the weight.
